A Royal who manipulates shadows, a quality that earns Felix the status of top spy for the Court — a fact which confuses everyone, as he’s notoriously lazy with his assignments if not for a handler keeping him on task. For whatever reason, the Court is permissive of his negligence and irreverence, which earns him the appearance of the golden child who can do no wrong. Chaotic, antagonistic, and extremely contrarian, it’s clear Felix’s sole ambition is to be disliked on ideological principle.
Felix is happily married to his longtime handler, Jolanka, who is the only person he earnestly gets along with and is anxious to be liked by — which makes it nerve-wracking she’s unhappy that she was left behind in his dust and wants words with him.

Jolanka is always cheerfully looking for her next fight, which she gets plenty of by letting Felix antagonize anyone he talks to.
Jolanka took on Felix as an assignment to distance herself from her ascetic upbringing with the Order, and ever since has been on a journey to revel in the indulgences she was once denied. Inexplicably happily married to Felix, though she gets extremely incensed when he dumps her to run around their 10th anniversary.

The oldest child of the infamous Black Dragon of the Seven Peaks, the late and former CEO Malcolm the Veil King. Following the Black Dragon's destructive attack on the Ivory Rectory, most of the Seven Peaks™ activities have been suspended in the Tower — and as a result, Fleance has been raised as a political hostage and a rival for her father's legacy.
Fleance inherited her late father's draconic nature, but not much else. She is intense, brooding, but prone to hyper-fixations. Neon is the face of most of the Court's promotions and the youngest daughter of the great hero Holy Light, making her one of the most famous Royals of the Tower. With a disposition as bright as her powers of light, Neon’s personality matches her heroic nature — which can easily be seen as naive and hypocritical, when adjacent to the Court’s more unsavory realities.

The variable of an experiment to resurrect an ancient Royal Line long gone extinct — it went very poorly for everyone involved. Maddox was subject to endless brutal trials and experiments in the Archivist's attempt to reconstruct the line of the Lash King. Eventually, he broke containment and escaped the Tower. He's been stalking the outer islands and the Tower itself ever since, hunting down members of the Court he finds responsible for his mistreatment.
Maddox, The Mad King, the Lash King. He's known by many names, but he's known even more by his ability to inflict lashes in, well, just about anything. Spotting him in the Tower is considered an emergency of the highest level — he's already eliminated several Royal Lines, and he seeks to end more.

While he was alive and active in the Court, Dr. Shimura had a reputation of sadistically torturing his patients with experimental treatments, especially on children. Survivors of his experiments remember him as one of the most hated and terrifying personalities in the Court’s history — as Felix can much attest.
Dr. Shimura's ghost appears to be wandering the Tower, capturing rogue Royals for his own mysterious sinister ends.
